Kids get their teeth checked during
Childsmile Week

Approximately 450 kids had their teeth checked last week in Stornoway as part of the annual NHS Western Isles Childsmile event, and a number of children are now also booked in for appointments during the summer holidays.
Appointments specifically for kids are being made available in DentalClinics across the length of the Western Isles throughout the summer, and there are opportunities for all youngsters to get their teeth checked and to enjoy the annual fun of Childsmile.
A specific week of ‘Childsmile’ is being held in each of the Dental Clinics in the Western Isles during July and August this year. The first week (from July 1st) took place in Western Isles Dental Clinic in Stornoway, and the event was incredibly successful, with kids enjoying the fun of the event, whilst also learning important messages. From July 8th, appointments were available in Scalpay Dental Clinic.
