5000% More Fluoride in Toothpaste than Fluoridated Water

Someone needs to check their elementary maths here! Adult fluoride toothpaste is allowed to contains up to 1500 ppm of fluoride, whilst fluoridated water contains around 1ppm.

So adult toothpaste contains (1500-1)/1 x 100% more fluoride - that's 1499 X 100% - or as close as dammit to 150,000% more fluoride that's is in your kid's water. Now do you understand why fluoride toothpaste might not be such a good idea to swallow?
