One sided view

He dismisses fluorosis as cosmetic, it isn't. He doesn't mention that Birmingham is a centre for thyroid problems and obesity. No mention that natural fluoride is found with calcium not contaminated fluorosilac acid. No mention of all the professionls who signed that they want fluoridation stopped.

No mention that yes you will be consulted and then dismissed as each argument is weighted - a dentist is worth how many hundreds of individuals saying no?

Dont expect Dr Andrewe Mortimer even to consider anything against fluoridation - he is convinced he is right.

Hi

Wasn't sure of the best place to make a general comment, but here seems as good a place as any!

I was forwarded the link to this blog by my father in law and it has made interesting, if scary reading. As a mum to a 14 month old girl and a new baby on the way, I am appalled by the implications of adding fluoride to our water.

I have forwarded the link to this blog to the Southampton NCT google group. It has 84 members and also to about 10 friends with young children. I think if you can get parents on board, that could be a powerful voice for your campaign. I think it would be worth contacting the various NCT branches across Hampshire as I am sure they would back you and as each branch has a quarterly local magazine, i'm sure you could reach quite a wide audience.

If i can help in anyway, I would be happy to.

Hi Louise
Thanks for that, we will contact your group. We've just produced a DVD - I'll send it to one of the NCT committee.
Fluoridation is going to be hard to stop unless we can mobilise groups such as yours.

Contact Ann if you want to get involved we have produced some leaflets as well as the DVD.

Bill, I've just received emails from 2 people from the NCT group who are asking if an e-petition has been set up? Has there and if so what is the link? Thanks.

No, there is no local e-petition organised. I don't think that will have any affect on the SHA. The only thing that will stop fluoridation locally is if we can demonstrate overwhelmingly that the citizens do not want it by individual letters to the SHA, to MPs, to the Echo, packed meetings and perhaps a rally on the streets.
A tall order!
