UK - News Release From the South West Hampshire Green Party

Water fluoridation poisons horses
On Sunday 24th February 2008, Dr. David Kennedy posted a new video titled "Poisoned Horses." (1) Horses are much larger than canaries but in the case of fluoride toxicity they are an ideal canary for what fluoride might do to humans. Why? Because horses drink a huge amount of water each day. This video documents what happened to Cathy and Wayne Justices' quarter horses when they drank fluoridated water. This is a very distressing story. The symptoms experienced by the horses included dental fluorosis; acute lameness; abnormalities of the hooves; changes in bone structure; dermatological reactions; colic and even changes in behaviour (one animal changed from a fine temperament to aggressive behaviour “ symptoms which were reversed on removal of the fluoridated water”.)
All of these symptoms and conditions have been confirmed by Dr. Lennart Krook from Cornell veterinary school in the USA. Many of the very same symptoms have been experienced by people who claim to be sensitive to fluoride. It is a shocking indictment of the governments which continue to push this reckless policy that they have never attempted to follow up on these numerous reports from citizens with carefully controlled scientific studies.

John Spottiswoode, Green Party spokesman in South West Hampshire said: “This evidence is just the latest in a long line of supporting evidence that clearly shows the enormous dangers of water fluoridation to our health and to our animals. Your cat or your dog may well already prefer to drink water from outside rather than from the bowl of tap water that you put out, probably due to the existing additives in our water, such as aluminium and chlorine. Animals are more sensitive to toxins in the water than we humans are. As seen with the horses, adding fluoride is likely to make that much worse. If they have to drink the fluoridated water we must expect major health effects in our pets and our horses, including potentially death from fluoride poisoning, as recently documented.”
“If the health authorities are allowed to get away with poisoning humans, trampling over our human rights by forcing poisonous chemicals on us via our water supply. what about our animals? Do they not have animal rights to clean water as well?”
